Copper sulfate is a chemical made of copper and sulfur. It’s used to kill bacteria, algae, fungi, snails, and plant roots. Farmers often use it in sheep footbaths to prevent and treat foot rot. Since copper is important for animals, copper sulfate can also be given to those as a drench with a copper deficiency.
